5 Songs I Love w/ Celine Love

Updated: Jan 21, 2022

Having recently the dreamy R&B track 'Like You Like That', Celine Love blew us away with her unique blend of soul, R&B and pop, breathtaking vocals and spotless electronic production. Needless to say, we wanted to know more about her influences and the music she loves. Here's Celine talking about her top 5:

Here - Alessia Cara

When I heard this single I knew I was going to be a fan for life. It was one of those ‘wish I had written that song’ moments. The way the Isaac Hayes Sample sets the scene for you to cling to every lyric is an amazing example where songwriting and production go perfectly in hand.

Eyelashes - Tori Kelly This song and the entire project really inspired me to start recording my own demos. I absolutely loved the DIY quality it had and that the mix wasn't perfect because it made the character and content stand out even more.

Victoria Monet - Waterfall Out Of Love Victoria Monet is a beast in the songwriting world and this is one of the first solo songs of hers I heard. I just absolutely loved the imagery and I found it at a time of my life where the storytelling really resonated with me.

Lover You Should’ve Come Over - Jeff Buckley The first time I heard this song it felt like time stood still. It's simply one of the most beautiful and well written songs I know. Any time I get worried about leaning too much into my folky side I remember that there is a certain emotion that can only be carried by an acoustic guitar.

To Be Alone - Hozier Hozier is modern reminder as to why I will always love music rooted in folk. The reason I picked this song in particular is because I heard it live twice and lost my mind each time. The power in his performance combined with the energy in the crowd was electric.
