Returning after their 2022 album ‘Why You Lacking Energy?’ and before they head off on tour supporting Circa Waves and Bastille, tropical indie-pop three-piece Cassia have released a new single entitled ’High Tones’. The new track is set for your summer playlist, with a sweet vocal full of good vibes and smiles and a catchy instrumental. Blissful synths, laid pack percussion and chunky electric guitars all come together to create a tune drenched in joy.
Cassia have been on the up and up since they formed in the small seaside town of Macclesfield, near Manchester. They’ve seen radio play, streaming success and masses of publication support with their music never failing to grab a new audience and turn them into fans.
On the new release, the band says:
“The song was written from memories of being drunk at festivals last summer and the anticipation for festival season this year. Nothing beats that blissful chaos that always ensues. The sound of everything around you becoming modulated and weird, and your vision may get blurry, and you’re just so captivated in the moment. We’d get in the van with the lights of the road and the high tones ringing in our ears. Usually the mark of a memorable night. We wanted to make a song that encompassed that feeling for us, one you can dance to, that’s carefree & funky with loads of bounce and groove.”
‘High Tones’ comes ahead of Cassia’s next EP which promises to match the energy of this track and bring in plenty of interesting collaborations. It’s the exact kind of funky fun we all need this summer season.
