Conal Kelly releases full-throttle single 'Control'

Based in the South-West of England, Conal Kelly is the latest indie virtuoso who specialises in dreamy falsetto vocals and a bed of carefully crafted synth and guitar-work. Following his debut original single 'In My Head', Conal Kelly's 'Control' has drawn plaudits across the board. Dive in below:

Speaking of his new release, Conal says:

The writing/recording of this song was the most I have ever consciously pushed myself out of my comfort zone... it can sometimes be easy to find yourself a little boxed in when you're writing and recording/mixing every part of a track, but this was my most determined attempt to break away from the habits I'd formed. The whole thing took a couple of months to complete, but the finished track is something I'm really proud of and can hopefully show some diversity in my songwriting! The vocal part really drives the song in my opinion...this is also the first time an outro has been my favourite aspect of a song I've written, I love that ending vocal hook.”

Conal then emerged as a solo artist earlier this year with his debut EP entitled ‘The 24hr Covers Project’. He released his first original single ‘In My Head’ in September, which received support from Radio X and Radio 1’s Phil Taggart. The single was also crowned Sound of the Weekend by BBC Introducing and Track of the Week on BBC Radio Bristol. 2020 is proving to be a big year for both Conal and home-produced music, so we can expect big things from this alt-pop prodigy.
