Hip-hop group Concept Collective — made up of Tre Savels, Coolin’ Cal, Blonde Larry, Quazi, Davon Israel, Fali, Dime, WolfTripp, and Oliver Moody — combine addictive melodies with a unique style and just the right amount of ego. Hailing from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia), the eclectic crew conjures a smooth vibe on the new single “Hold Me Down”.
Produced by Oliver Moody (real name is Oliver Gaither), “Hold Me Down” sees the group’s masterful flows come to life over a soulful instrumental steeped in bright synths and a polarizing drum pattern. The track tackles the insecurities and tendencies of modern relationships, which inevitably leads Dime to ask the question: Can you hold me down?
“Hold Me Down is about modern relationships and what they mean, and whether the ones that we care about are really there for us,” Blonde Larry explained.
“To me, the song is about my girl holding me down when I was down bad and figuring out what I was doing with my life. From when I was broke working barely over minimum wage tryna get my life together,” rapper Coolin’ Cal said.
Comprised of artists, songwriters, and producers each specializing in their own prowess, the band fuses its members’ stylistic backgrounds and capabilities to produce a body of work encompassing a multitude of genres and vibes. Their goal: transcend music, using its trending sounds and designer ambitions to form a lifestyle brand that channels its messages of independent thinking, empowerment, and making the most of life.
