Elly releases R&B inspired single: ‘Robbed’

In Elly's latest offering she manages to tackle age and the worries of growing older with humour and attitude, and we're here for it.

Elly's new releases 'Robbed' provides us with a new outlet in which we can all find self reflection. 'Robbed' presents itself through a 90s inspired R&B and Hip Hop backdrop and is accompanied by a focused lyrical counterpart. Though the song is well crafted, this should come as no surprise as stylistically she’s always strived to develop. Showcased by Elly writing alongside Erik Alcock (Kanye, Eminem, Pink), Dan Edenberg (Anderson .Paak), and P*nut (Amy Winehouse, James Arthur) over the past year.

Speaking to us about the release she says: "I'm at the age when you first have to learn to stand on your own two feet. You become broke if you're not careful and you always need a plan to keep things moving. This song is meant to make people who are going through this phase right now realise that they are definitely not alone. Everyone has been broke and money is a biatch. Trying to make the best of it and come up with something creative, for example rob a bank——just joking don’t not try this at home.”

Growing up between LA and Vienna, Elly has achieved so much already. At 16 years old she took part in the ‘The Voice of Germany’ and afterwards came second in the televised Austrian Eurovision Song Contest qualifiers which spawned her a hit single. Her past performing experience and songwriting ability have merged together nicely to start moulding her own corner of the R&B and Hip Hop scene and we think this is going from strength to strength.
