Jamws releases irresistible new single "I Don't Want To Fall In Love"

Singer-Songwriter Jamws has managed to craft a unique and signature sound by blending dreamy ethereal sounds with infectious pop. The likes of The War On Drugs and Japanese Breakfast are evident influences, however Jamws clearly places his own distinctive stamp on his music. His songs come drenched in emotion and soaked with infectious pop sensibilities - a combination that will immerse you musically.

Speaking about his process, he says: “When I write music I try not to think too much about a template. I like to think 'what does this song need?' or 'what world does this song live in?' It was important to me to have space for full band and solo arrangements, as well electronic producer-y stuff. Artists like Prince and Paul McCartney gave me a lot of confidence to try all kinds of arrangements and not feel restricted.

His latest offering comes in the form of single "I Don't Want To Fall In Love." The track features a colourful melting pot of playful drums, heartwarming synths and understated guitar lines. On top his vocals cut through mix, coming drenched in pop sensibilities and working hand in glove with well-penned lyrics.

Speaking about the single, Jamws shares: “This is the opening track on the album and feels like a good representation of a tension that runs through the album. This song is about trying to control love and when it happens. I wrote it at a time when I was seeing someone really special but also felt like I wanted to enjoy being single. I’d only recently had my heart broken and the idea of falling in love again felt like too much.

There was definitely a growing tension, the closer I got to the person and that comes through in the song. It’s like I’m kicking and screaming as I’m being dragged into ‘the deep end’ as I call it. There was something resonant about the image of treading water in a swimming pool. Part of me wants to surrender and say ‘well, this is where you are’ so let go, the other part of me is hanging on and thrashing. This is also the opener to the album, which feels very fitting, that tension of wanting and fearing love is a huge part of the record.”

The single comes in anticipation of his debut album "Soft." The album is a 10-track offering that will be sure to take you on a musical journey. With a growing fanbase and irresistible music, Jamws is sure to go to the top.
