Kierra da Goddess has released two well-crafted singles 'From The Manic Pixie Dream Girl' and 'it’s ok to change,' and they both feature infectious instrumentation and emotionally penned vocals.
‘From The Manic Pixie Dream Girl’ comes in the form of a ball of energy. The track features a strong rhythmic backbone that you can't help but dance to. The vocal melodies are captivating and work hand in glove with the well written lyrics. Talking about ‘From The Manic Pixie Dream Girl’, Kierra da Goddess shares: “I wrote ‘From the manic pixie dream girl’ about being made into a joke after telling a lot of jokes. It’s a rage song for people who have my humour style.”
Stripping it back, 'it's okay to change' it's much more chilled out. Heavenly stacked backing vocals are a stand out feature throughout the track and help mould her acoustic idea into sonic bliss. The lyrics are well suited, as she deliberates that change is inevitable and we should open up our minds to new experiences.
She began writing songs at six years old as a way to deal with changes at home. Being a young black woman seeing such a lack in representation for her interests with her own culture at the forefront, Kierra began making her own music. The more Kierra writes, the more her craft develops and grows, and we can't wait to see her next offering.
