Olistar releases infectious new single 'Bando Baby'
Olistar is the moniker of Olisa Franklin Emodi, a Nigerian musician and performer with a signature and unique sound. Growing up, his passion for music was sparked by watching his mother’s band perform, and then later on discovering greats such as Biggie Smalls, Bob Marley and Fela. After gaining experience in a few different elements in the urban music field, he found himself starting a Drill career. He received a warm welcome from his first ever drill releases, entitled ‘Umunwa,' quickly following it up with ‘What’s the Difference.'
‘Bando Baby,' his latest single, was recorded from his home, with collaboration from producer CROW. His latest single is infectious and features irresistible grooves, atmospheric synths and hard-hitting bars. A mixture of Afrobeat, Drill and Hip-Hop, the new track is inspired by Olistar’s growth from the streets in Onitsha.
Speaking further about this, he says: “Coming from my city Onitsha, Nigeria, I feel the need to advocate for the youths in the world because I got first hand hood life, and making it to this point I know a lot of youths need to see the light at the end of every tunnel and that will send a great wide wave of hope across the world.”
Olistar is also currently gearing up for a 2023 European tour.
