REVIEW: POESY - ‘Diamonds’

Canadian musician POESY has returned with her blissfully enchanting new single “Diamonds”.

Both written and recorded in Toronto, “Diamonds” is heavily influenced by the finality of time itself, and the beauty that can be found in the fleeting moments we experience in life.

“Diamonds is at its core, a song about experiencing a dark time and trying to drag yourself through to the other side. It’s about the pressure you put on yourself that leaves you with dark inner turmoil. I’ve dragged myself out of that countless times so I hope Diamonds can do that for someone else. I called it Diamonds because they’re a substance that is made under huge amounts of pressure, but they’re also so valuable - just like we are. So be gentle with yourself...”

First embarking on her musical journey at the tender age of 4, POESY takes influence from all areas of the music industry, but vocal inspiration comes from artists such as Kate Bush, Freddie Mercury, and Alanis Morissette. Combining her experience of performing in musical theatre, rock bands, and as an operatic singer, POESY has created an unique and unmistakable soundscape that is entirely her own.

“Diamonds” is a captivating and transformative track that showcases POESY’s exquisite talent for creating beautifully captivating and powerful pop ballads.
