Tanya Sholto-Dougla (t.e.d), originally hails from South Africa, but has found herself musically in Gloucestershire. Whilst studying at the University of Gloucestershire, she decided to self-release her music, and it was quickly received with critical acclaim. Making her debut with the EP “halfpace”, she's quickly gathered a loyal and ever-growing fanbase.
t.e.d is determined to make 2023 even bigger and better, and she's going to do that with her latest single "Let Me Be." The track features warm pianos, playful drums and angelic backing vocals. Her lead vocals are immersive and come packed with emotion.
Speaking about the track, she says: “‘Let Me Be’ follows the process of realising someone isn’t good for you, and the eventual demise in a relationship begging to end. It represents a moment when I realised someone had created a toxic space for me, and the process of having to fight my way out before we could both let go. ‘Let Me Be’ is inspired by the human ability to change, and the battle we wage within ourselves to change things for the better.”
t.e.d is a versatile artist that will continue to grow, meaning that it's an artist to watch out for, for sure.
