After bringing some enormous heat over the last few weeks with his stunning singles 'Joan' and '2007', Australian producer 1tbsp is back at it once again as he delivers his pulsing new effort 'Seasons'.
Lifted from his forthcoming new EP 'Joan', which is set to arrive soon, 'Seasons' is another fresh and adventurous dose of his progressive electronic direction. Teaming up with Brisbane/Meanjin artist Squidgenini on vocals, the pair knock out a brilliantly fresh and inventive listen, brimming with explorative tones throughout.
Speaking about the new track, he said, “I was able to meet Bella (Squidgenini) through booking her for the first Sumoclic Night (a monthly club night I threw last year in Brisbane) and was blown away by her taste and artistry. This track started as a half idea I made with Allan (from Close Counters) and I showed Bella and then we both started trying ideas on top. She wrote a poem inspired by the sound which became the verses and I finished off the song with some modular synth recordings sent to me from Nick Ward.”
While Squidgenini added, “Seasons is about surrendering to the flow of the journey. Relaxing into the hibernation of one’s internal winter and the reflections gained from that space.”
