We sat down with the incredible Davi The Mavi to learn more about what influences his unique sound, as a producer-songwriter. Be sure to check out his new release 'Come Back' at the bottom and follow him on socials!

First off, a quick message from Davi himself:

"What’s up, it’s Davi The Mavi. Big love to FLEX Magazine for asking me to break down some of the  tracks that have shaped my sound. My new single ‘Come Back’ is out now, and you can probably hear  these influences in it somewhere.

It was hard to narrow down because there are so many other tracks that I really like, for example  Travis Scott's Butterfly Effect, Wu-Tang Clan’s C.R.E.A.M., Kanye West's Ghost Town and Saint Pablo,  Drake's Headlines and Jungle, Future's I can't Save You as well as Stick Talk, but here are five tracks  that are proper important to how I think about music. Let’s get into it."

Gucci Mane – ‘Lemonade’

This track is just legendary, innit? The beat is so weird but it goes so hard at the same Ɵme, that high pitched piano sample is unforgettable. I heard this when I was younger and it showed me that you  don’t have to sound like everyone else to make a banger. Gucci’s flow is so laid-back and confident  over this mad beat.

Tommy Lee Sparta – ‘Protocol’

For me, this is that real, dark, gaza dancehall energy. Tommy Lee’s flow on this is just different gravy.  He’s so aggressive and direct with his delivery, but the rhythm is still there, you have to move to it.  It’s all about power and making a statement. Listening to artists like him inspires me to be more  confident on the mic and to really ride the riddim with authority.

NLE Choppa Ō. Roddy Ricch – ‘Walk Em Down’

This track is just relentless energy. The piano beat is mad infectious and NLE Choppa’s flow is just  non-stop hype. It’s one of those tunes that gets you gassed up from the first second. It reminds me of  the importance of having that high-energy, undeniable presence on a track that makes people have  to listen.

Don Toliver Ō. Gunna & Nav – ‘Lemonade’

This has to be on the list. It’s a modern classic. While Gucci’s ‘Lemonade’ was about a unique beat,  this one is all about the melody and the vibe. Don Toliver’s hook is so creative and catchy it just lives  in your head. It showed me how important melodic flows are in today's hip-hop for creating  something that’s both a club banger and something you can just vibe to.

The Weeknd, Travis Scott & Florence & The Machine – ‘Reflections Laughing’ (2025)

This one is about the bigger picture for me. The idea of these three artists on one track is a madness.  You’ve got The Weeknd’s dark, cinematic R&B world, Travis Scott’s atmospheric autotune and huge  production, and then the epic, powerful vocals of Florence. It represents the future of genre bending.
