Following the release of their latest single 'I Never Wanna Be In Love', Flex caught up with LÖNA to discover what influences their alt-pop sound. If you enjoy LÖNA's picks, be sure to check out 'I Never Wanna Be In Love' at the end of the article.

1. BANKS – I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend

This song is pure tension, and we love that. The production is dark, pulsating, and raw, which is something we really connect with. It feels like a powerful act of reclaiming control. And the chorus just doesn’t let go. We find ourselves having it stuck on repeat!

2. FKA twigs – Eusexua

FKA twigs is one of those artists who completely hypnotizes you with her sound. We love how she blends delicate vocals and weird vocal processing with loud dance beats and avant-garde boldness. Her music is vulnerable and strong at the same time. That duality really seems to resonate with her audience, something we strive for too.

3. Sevdaliza – Darkest Hour

This video is art, every frame feels like its own artwork. Sevdaliza’s voice is truly one of a kind, and we’re proud that she lives and creates in the Netherlands, like us. Darkest Hour is about pain, but also about resilience. It’s dark en danceable at the end what makes it so powerful.

4. Tove Lo – No One Dies From Love

In this track, Tove Lo crafts something intensely dramatic. A bit of emotional exaggeration can help process heartbreak, and this song turns that rawness into an anthem you can cry and dance to. We love how it balances synthy euphoria with brutal honesty. It makes space for grief without drowning in it.

5. Billie Eilish – bury a friend

This song feels so empty and clean, it really creeps up on you. It’s a great body of work and a big inspiration for us in how it balances pop structure with haunting, dark undertones.
