Following the release of their latest single 'Here With You', Flex caught up with Swedish indie-pop duo Maklo & Peter to find out which influences their eclectic sound. If you enjoy Maklo & Peter's picks, be sure to check out 'Here With You' at the end of the article.
1. Santeria - Sublime
Just the coolest song ever made, at least according to one of us, the other one doesn’t really care about this one. But it has to be here! I, Peter have played this at every bender, every car ride and I’ve hammered it on my guitar for 15 years! It will most definitely be the anthem of my funeral!
2. That’s what you get - Paramore
This one is just pure chaos - in a smooth and soothing way, just what we ourselves are striving to as a band! And we always do the drum intro with our mouths whenever we’re getting excited!
3. Hallucinogenics - Matt Maeson
The powerful and honest songwriting combined with dreamy, almost trippy music and vocals gets us every time. We just can’t stop listening to it!
4. Dunka dumma hjärta dunka - Felicia Takman
Swedish pop at its absolute finest. Relentless, hopeless and wonderful! This is what we do over here!!! We’re just gonna leave this one right here….
5. People Watching - Sam Fender
We absolutely fell in love with this one when it was released last year. A fantastic song all the way through - just so simple and cool. We’re a bit mad it’s not our song cause it really captures what we want to sound like…
