We sat down with the incredible Presh to find out more about what influences have inspired his unique sound. Be sure to listen to his new single 'This Feeling' at the bottom, and follow his journey through his socials!
Viva La Vida – Coldplay
This song is just... timeless. You don’t get this kind of excellence often. It’s got bounce, rhythm, emotion — and something about it just lifts you. It’s one of Coldplay’s greatest, no question. I actually busk Viva La Vida quite a lot, and it always gets people going. There’s this kind of collective energy that fills the space when I perform it — it never gets old.
Man in the Mirror – Michael Jackson
I grew up on Michael Jackson. Man in the Mirror is one of those songs that stays with you. The message is powerful — it’s about self-reflection and making a change. I’ve performed it live a few times, and it’s always a moment. But MJ is hard to cover — he’s just the GOAT. His artistry is unmatched. Every time I sing one of his songs, it’s with deep respect.
Make You Feel My Love – Adele
I first heard the Adele version — didn’t even know it was originally Bob Dylan’s until later. Adele is one of my greatest musical influences. Her music is so raw and honest, but also pristine and technically excellent. I perform Make You Feel My Love all the time — it’s one of my go-to songs, and I’ve even put my own twist on it with key changes and modulations. It’s deeply emotional and always connects with people. I’ll be dropping a live version on my YouTube soon — one that’s especially heartfelt. Fire on the Mountain – Asa
This one takes me straight back. I grew up on this song, and it still sounds new every time I hear it. Asa is one of my favorite artists of all time — and honestly, so underrated. She has so many incredible songs. If you asked me this same question tomorrow, I could easily pick another one of hers. In fact, this whole list could be filled with Asa tracks — but I didn’t want to make it an all-Asa list. Lol.
Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) – Hillsong UNITED
This song describes my life right now — stepping into the unknown, taking leaps of faith, and trusting the journey. I’ve performed Oceans more than 50 times live, and I’m still not tired of it. It’s one of those songs that builds something beautiful every time it’s sung. I’ll be posting a fresh, soulful version on my YouTube soon — one you’ve never heard before. Honourable Mentions:I can’t talk about musical influence without mentioning Emeli Sandé. Mountains, Next to Me, My Kind of Love, Brighter Days, Read All About It, and River — those songs are incredible. She’s one of my all-time favorite artists and, honestly, one of the greatest songwriters of our generation. Period.
