5 Songs I Love w/ Rachel Raquel

LA-based singer-songwriter Rachel Raquel is fast on the rise. Channeling an audible myriad of influences into her silky brand of pared-back bedroom pop, her recent run of singles is well worth revisiting, with the sultry ones and the subdued ones equally teeming with emotion.

Having just released the lockdown anthem "Déjà Vu", we thought we'd ask her about some of the music that's been soundtracking her 2020. Without further ado, here's Rachel on five songs that inspire her...

Miguel - "Sure Thing"

This is definitely an oldie but a goody. I love the intro so much. I can’t really explain but it makes me happy and calm at the same time.

strongboi - "strongboi"

I love this duo. Everyone I show this song to loves it! It’s chill and upbeat. The beat is sick. The girl on it sounds hot af. Every time I hear it, I bounce, haha.

Hether - "When U Loved Me"

The slow song of my DREAMS. Hether always kills it. I saw his show right before quarantine hit. His vocals hits you right where you need it. Love the synths and love the guitarrrr. Love the lyrics. You just gotta listen.

Gorillaz - "Ascension" (feat. Vince Staples)

My current hype song. If you love the Gorillaz and love Vince Staples, this is the move. My workout song; my get pumped song.

Raveena - "Natural"

You can never go wrong with Raveena. She’s perfect when you’re sad, happy, chilled. When it’s sunny, rainy and everything in between. I adore her and I adore this song.
