Honey Motel are going from stength to strength. With the release of their new EP Motel FM, the quartet have pushed their indie tendencies to new terratories with moments of soulful emotion and others of explosive, distortion fueled energy. The releasse more than signals them as one to watch.

We wanted to delve into what inspires the band, so caught up with Fred, Sam, Jack and Lew to hear about some of their favourite tunes of all time:

Fred

J&L by Medium Build, this guy is awesome, his vocals are insanely raw yet controlled, his songwriting tends to appear simple on the surface but always has beautiful deeper meanings when you listen twice, I'm a massive fan.

Sam

Constant Headache by Joyce Manor. I feel like a fake fan because I only became aware of this band like two years ago then discovered they had been around for a while. Raw, Rock, Emo. Just class.

Sam

Killeagh by KingFishr. One of my favourite songs of 2025. Eddie Keoghs voice in this is just so raw and emotive!

Jack

The Village Green Preservation Society by the Kinks, been going back over some of the albums in my music collection recently this song really stands out to me, it’s simply very pleasant to listen to, even if the Kinks were brawling with each other around the time of its release you couldn’t tell. “God save strawberry jam and all different varieties”

Lew

Diamond eyes by Deftones. Seen these live recently, one of my favourite bands. For whatever reason this album is one I keep returning to most often. Its Heavy, its delicate, its intimate.
