5 Songs I Love w/ Tiam Wills

Updated: Oct 16, 2023

Lyon-based producer Tiam Wills is known for his distinct electro-funk-infused sound and unforgettable live sets. He recently released his infectious nu-disco anthem ‘Destiny,' and we can't get enough of it. We wanted to know more about his influences, so we asked Tiam to share his five favorite songs.

Kim Petras - 'Heart to Break'

To tell you the truth, it was my brother who introduced me to Kim Petras's music. It’s simple; when I listened to it and discovered it for the first time, I fell in love! Haha. This clip is the first I saw of her. I love everything about the beginnings of a great artist; the voice, the instrumental, a colorful pop clip. It’s happy as I like them.

070 Shake & GENER8ION - 'Neo Surf'

I discovered 070 Shake with the Spotify algorithm, in my discoveries of the week. I thank him because I discovered an artist who is now one of my favorites. I like its artistic and experimental side on certain tracks. All combined with the eye of Romain Gavras for this clip, it’s fabulous. I love the plans so much what he does, these are not classic shots, just like James Wann in the movies. He is the type of artist who has another vision for the images, and it gives incredible visuals. Tame Impala - 'Is it True'

What can I tell you… From the very first drum sounds I know it’s Tame Impala. He has what I like to find in music; this famous “touch" and his own style. I really like the whole 80s period, and I think it’s inspired by it while being simple and modern at the same time.

Silk Sonic - 'Skate'

Two genius artists who meet and become friends; it makes Silk Sonic! When I was 17, I listened to a lot of Funk and found that vibe in their music. It makes me think of my mother who doesn't live near me, because she's a Bruno Mars fan ++ too! I find that the best ideas are often the simplest and this clip is proof. SG Lewis, Lucky Daye - 'Vibe Like This (ft. Ty Dolla Sign)'

Hard to choose. I like a lot of his clips. SG Lewis is my favorite. His energy and positivity for having met him and seen him in concert, are transcribed wonderfully in his clips. A fairly simple idea for the clip, but I find it beautiful, colorful, and it makes me happy every time I listen to it and see it. A good atmosphere to start a day, with Lucky Dale and Ty Dolla $Ign, who enhance the instrumental.
