Brisbane based artist Jade Not Jane uses her music to create intimate stories. Recently releasing her new single "DNA", the track is all about removing those toxic people from your life and finding a place where you can find self-acceptance.
Her songwriting is emotional and heartfelt, with lyrics that will stay with you long after it's finished. Based in Australia, we asked Jade for 5 things that she loves about her city.
The music community here is amazing and I am so blessed to get to create music with so many supportive creatives around me! Some of my favourite Brisbane artists/bands are: Annie Joelle, Patient Lounge, Oh Bailey and Hope D to name a few.
Indian Kitchen in West End - this is my favourite curry place in Brisbane. The mango chicken there is the best!
Close to many of Australia’s best beaches. I love that I can jump in the car and be at the beach in an hour. We are also really close to Australia Zoo - which if you know who Steve Irwin is then you will understand how cool that is.
4ZZZ - this is Brisbane’s Community radio. I absolutely love how much 4ZZZ supports local musicians - they are the best!
My house - which unfortunately is not something everyone gets to experience! I live in this old salmon Queenslander with some of the most amazing people. We are also really lucky as we have an awesome view of Brisbane from our back deck, and it's such a beautiful city. However, if you want to see some beautiful Brisbane views Mount Coot-tha is the place to go.
