5 Things I Love About Minneapolis w/ Julia Brennan

Minneapolis born singer songwriter Julia Brennan creates music with heart and soul. Recently releasing her new EP honest, the 5 track project explores loss, desire and heartache. Written in collaboration with renowned producers and songwriters Jenna Andrews (BTS, Dua Lipa, Drake), BoyMatthews (Hayden James, Oliver Heldens) and Steve Soloman (James Arthur), it's a cathartic analysis of heartbreak and emotional desire. An inspiring listen.

We sat down with Julia to find out she she loves about her city. Tune in.

The Seasons – OK, I have to admit this is somewhat of a love-hate relationship, but it’s

the best. You can’t beat a Minnesota fall. It’s so beautiful – perfect weather, and the colors are absolutely incredible. The holiday season always feels a bit magical with pine trees and Christmas lights always covered in snow. And I love how much rain we get in the spring.

'Minnesota Nice' – Absolutely a real thing and I love it. There’s just something about Midwesterners that’s very “home-y”.

The Music Scene – It’s small, but it’s a very tight-knit, welcoming community. Everybody knows everybody in this music scene, and they’re always willing to help out or know someone who can.

The Air – I know this sounds weird and I don’t even know how to explain it, but it’s a thing. I’m very big on scent, and so every time I travel there’s a smell to the place or a feeling to the air, and Minnesota’s my favorite. It's just so clean and cris- it just feels good to breathe!

It’s Home – This one’s the most important as I love Minnesota because I grew up here, my family’s here. It’s home.
