Other Musicians/Songwriters
I love the feeling of being in awe of art that someone has created. It drives me to want to make something that triggers that feeling in someone else. I remember listening to Taylor Swift for the first time and thinking how amazing it was that someone else could write words that I related so to heavily.
People In General
I really enjoy watching people, talking to my friends, listening to strangers and hearing about thing’s they’ve experience and gone through. Listening to others gives me so much inspiration for writing. If you’re ever short on content for a new song, just listen to other people.
My Producer/Co-writer
Watching Kaity Rae laying down ideas for tracks is one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever experienced. She makes songs come to life. Lots of people don’t know how much time, energy and graft goes into the process of producing a killer song and I think it needs to be celebrated more.
Life
I’m a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. Things lining up in certain ways so that you meet that new person, or another leaves your life for whatever reason. The fact we don’t know what’s going to happen is fascinating (and a little terrifying) to me. We think we have things all figured out, but it’s impossible to.
The People That Listen To My Music
Hearing that something I’ve created has affected someone personally and made them feel something is the most inspiring thing I’ve EVER experienced. It’s the main reason I do what I do. Someone making the effort to reach out to tell me that they like what I’ve written is the most incredible feeling. That person doesn’t know me and I don’t know them, but we’ve got that thing in common and there’s an instant bond there.
