Alimba Makes Waves With New Electronic Single - 'Refracted Echoes' - Set For Release October 30th 2026
Alimba announces techno single 'Refracted Echoes'
A child sits beside a radio with a mix tape running, recording the show. Some evenings the radio is at his father's station, where a huge CD collection waits to be explored. That child was Spiros Aliprantis, and he now records as Alimba from his home in Bedfordshire.
Alimba has had a busy year; this October, he is set to release 'Refracted Echoes', a new techno single and a fitting next step after 'Resonance', his early 2026 album of vintage techno and trance - also available on CD through Elastic Stage. It arrives alongside the three-track Vocal Trance EP 'Temporal Distortion', which is out now and it is the last record he made with FL Studio.

It was a long time coming: the singles 'Kalispera' and 'Evolution', released in 2014 and 2015, were originally put out as a promo for it. His catalogue goes back to his 2010 debut EP, 'Beyond Milky Way', on Divaani Records. Along the way he has made Space Ambient with 'The Universe' (2011), Downtempo Ambient with 'Emerald's World' (2012), the space ambient drone EP '4 Stages of a Journey' (2018) and the anthology 'Liminal Keys' (2025), the last of his ambient downtempo albums.
This year he has added an Arturia MiniFreak and DrumBrute and two Korg Volcas, Keys and FM, and he shares live improvisation sessions on them via YouTube. Next up is a new album made in Reaper, built around what he calls a very new and defined sound of Trance with cinematic tones and world sounds.
Anyone who follows Alimba knows he doesn't stay in one place for long. His catalogue runs from Space Ambient to Downtempo, from drone to dance floor, and this single points firmly at the dance floor.
