Amey St. Cyr is the new voice of optimism providing some much-needed oomph to 2020 with her upcoming single ‘Life’s Too Short’. Having been in the game since the mid-nineties, Amey is no newbie to the music scene. However, life did its’ usual thing and intervened, meaning Amey was left in a space where creation and expanding her musical repertoire was impossible. Until now. Fast forward to the unprecedented atmosphere of 2020 and Amey, relinquished of all obstacles, can now freely explore her creative expression - and we couldn’t be more grateful. Amey is utilising every inch of her varied experience, including appearances in a host of music videos from the likes of Krept & Konan and Big Narstie, to kick start her solo musical ventures. Much like the number one dance hit she had in the eighties ’60 Seconds,’ Amey’s sound is rooted in unwaveringly uplifting, retro-tinged dance hits. Overflowing with positivity and open-ended optimism, Amey St. Cyr is launching into our atmosphere at the moment we need her most.
‘Life’s Too Short’ is the fresh nu-disco anthem exploding onto our playlists on the 16th of this month. The song is sculpted with a soundscape of eighties subtleties, with striking synths and a slapping bass line. The firm foundations of the song lie in its heartfelt message exalting the power of love, faith in the human race and the irrefutable influence of looking out for one another - and, oh boy, she does it with style. Complete with a captivatingly catchy chorus (trust me, you’ll be humming this under your mask for days), ‘Life’s Too Short’ is the exact sort of morale booster we’ve been craving this month.
