For her new EP 'The Rise and Fall of Eternity', Antoin Gibson has returned with a project built to be followed from beginning to end, with each track opening another door into a larger meditation on death, identity and the limits of human understanding.

'Introduction to the Unexplained' sets the tone by stepping into something more reflective than prevous cuts have suggested. It's the moment before a journey properly begins; where the uncertainty is already present, but has not yet acquired its shape.

Then 'Pandora’s Paradox' deepens that unease. Its title alone suggests a problem that cannot be neatly solved, and that sense of contradiction becomes central to the EP's appeal.

By 'Dystopian Empress', the scale expands considerably, as personal doubt begins to merge with broader ideas about collective behaviour, allowing the artist to examine the destructive instincts that seem permanently embedded within society. The theatrical framing also gives the song additional weight, pushing the EP away from conventional pop structure and towards something closer to a staged drama.

'Mirrors Behind the Smoke' narrows the focus again, with dark electronic textures creating a claustrophobic atmosphere while the writing probes the difference between what's visible and what's hidden beneath it.

Then comes 'Fortune Favours the Timeless', a striking closer precisely because it moves elsewhere musically. Its more stripped-down character gives the final chapter an unexpected openness, as though the EP has stepped out of its own darkness to contemplate the possibility of something beyond it.

But Antoin Gibson's greatest strength here is her restraint of conclusion. 'The Rise and Fall of Eternity' asks enormous questions but understands that answers would diminish them. Showing that this is less a release about death than about the discomfort of knowing we may never fully understand it.
