Singer-songwriter Avery Lynch returns with her striking new single 'Lasting Effects', a softly devastating yet ultimately empowering meditation on heartbreak, healing, and personal clarity. The track builds on the emotional resonance of her recent singles and offers another glimpse into her forthcoming project due later this year.
Written in the aftermath of a breakup, the song captures the moment when a cruel parting comment, “no one else will love you the way I did”, starts to reveal an unexpected truth. “I realized he was right,” Avery says, “but not in the way he thought. I don’t ever want someone like him, and I don’t want to be loved like that.” Rather than spiral, the experience becomes a quiet act of reclamation.
Co-produced by Jordanlilvee, Michael Blum, and Avery herself, 'Lasting Effects' leans into minimalism: ambient textures, hushed percussion, and melancholic piano underscore her vulnerable vocals, letting the weight of each word hang in the air.
