Bang & Olufsen team up with STUDIOCANAL to seek rising star to win week-long residency at Metropolis Studios

Continuing its commitment to nurture grassroots musicians, Bang & Olufsen is giving aspiring artists the chance to win a career-changing five-day residency at London’s Metropolis Studios, where Amy Winehouse created her pivotal ‘Back to Black’ album.

Coinciding with the highly anticipated release of the feature film 'BACK TO BLACK', which hit cinemas on April 12th, Bang & Olufsen and STUDIOCANAL are joining forces to launch a competition that could kickstart the artistic journey of one lucky singer-songwriter.

This unique opportunity will see the winning artist inhabiting the same creative spaces as Winehouse and other musical giants, supported by mastering engineer Stuart Hawkes, who played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of 'Back to Black'. Under Hawkes' tutorship, the artist will walk away with two mastered tracks, with the esteemed Metropolis production team on hand to assist throughout the recording and mixing processes.

A panel of industry experts will select three talented finalists from the pool of competition entrants to take to the stage at an exclusive event in London on 1st May. The finalists will perform live in front of a captivated audience, with the judging panel comprising Sam Taylor Johnson (Director, BACK TO BLACK), Stuart Hawkes (Mastering Engineer, Metropolis Studios), and a distinguished music industry expert, who will ultimately crown one overall winner.

Singer-songwriters eager to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity can enter the competition by submitting a short introduction along with a video performance of one of their original pieces of music. They can enter here.

The three finalists will be announced on April 23rd, with the final event taking place in London on May 1st.
