Drunken Logic releases politically charged anthemic rock single 'Born Mad'

It's hard to balance politics and music without it going so far to one side, but what Drunken Logic presents is a balancing act. Polished rock songs with that cutting lyrical edge that we can all resonate with is what he does best on his new EP 'An Awful Lot Of Nothing' and lead single 'Born Mad', a song all about the consistent tragedy of mass shootings in America.

"Born Mad" is my attempt to understand the mindset of someone who may go on to commit a mass shooting -- a uniquely American phenomenon that is at once profoundly shocking and no longer the least bit surprising. The narrator is a profoundly alienated and angry young man, someone who feels trapped by society's expectation of him and his own definition of masculinity. This song is a headbanger, and I'm proud of it, but it should make you feel uncomfortable the deeper you listen to it -- it still makes me uncomfortable, and I wrote the damn thing.”

Drunken Logic channels this pent up frustrated energy into a catchy and anthemic dosage of rock that feels nostalgic and raw with some brilliant guitar work underneath it all. 'Born Mad' is the symbol of his work to date, meaningful rock music that can be impactful as well as enjoyable to listen to. We love it and we love the EP, check it out below and see for yourself.
