Currently based in London, Newcastle-born singer-songwriter Becca James is back with her latest single, 'Bloom'. Seamlessly crossing earthy undertones with her alt-pop laden delivery, the single is an expansion of James' growing cinematic prowess. As she edges closer to her debut album, 'God In Chains', releasing in the Autumn, the track shows the delicate side of James' song writing with ethereal layered harmonies and subtle twinkling ivories providing much of the tracks shimmer.

Diving into the release, she comments, '"Bloom' embodies the peak of regenerative Spring energy; nurturing and full of potential. The song marks the 'aha' moment in the healing journey when you realise that while you can't change the past or the trauma you've experienced, you can embrace the fertile ground for growth and healing. This continues the narrative that began with the previous single, 'Revolution', exploring the idea that we are planting seeds for new beginnings even in moments of disaster. The track draws on imagery of the lotus flower, a spiritual symbol that blooms beautifully despite its surroundings, capturing the resilience and transformation inherent in the song. It began as a piano demo and was developed between the UK and Copenhagen with producer Andreas Stent. Initially more electronic, it gradually evolved as we blended acoustic elements too, a signature of the album. I hope it could serve as a cathartic, anthem-like ballad for the project, providing a counterpoint to its more serious and darker tracks.”
