BODIES are back with an instinctive ferocity, unstoppable on a new journey teed up by single ‘Health’, a raw, slow-burner that harnesses post-punk to transform personal trauma into a powerful meditation on fragility, doubt and endurance.
Born out of a cycling accident and a long battle with chronic illness, ‘Health’ captures the blurred edges, the toughest moments of recovery, a life resumed without a life lived. Through intensifying guitars, fantastically dynamic shifting drums and aching vocal performances, the relentless, restless introspection that is delivered is central to the appeal.
“I felt like I was coming back from the brink of death, but not enough to feel alive,” songwriter David shares. “There was this endless loop of spiritual and mental malaise, and underneath it all, this nagging voice questioning whether I somehow manifested what was happening to me. The song tries to capture that liminal space where you’re not sure if your own perceptions can be trusted.”
Refusing to offer false hope or easy answers with their new music, BODIES is prepping for the release of a new, debut album. After festival appearances and a press buzz, it’s only a matter of time before the Irish trio spreads out further afield. ‘Health’ offers a compelling glimpse of what’s to come.
