Returning to the limelight, Bonneville are back as they unleash their latest single 'In The Jungle', taken from their forthcoming album 'Hold For Room Tone'. Sporting a steady slice of emphatic rhythm and blues, the single lands as raw as it does emphatic. Crossing cinematic licks with a wild, dynamic feel, the single also features the legendary drummer Bernard Purdie. Showing no signs of slowing down, Bonneville once again reminds us that true soulful music is still alive and well.
Speaking about the single, and the addition of Purdie on the track, the band explain, “If a knife fight were a song, this is it. That old Bobby Womack and Donnie Hathaway energy that makes you feel the danger of dark alleyways and the slow creep of the struggle. Knowing that the legendary American drummer Bernard Purdie - the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame inductee and creator of the iconic Purdie Shuffle - would be on the track, I wanted to write something that really hit his roots in funk. This is one of the darker grooves on the album – deep funk, with Bernard on drums. There couldn’t be a tighter pocket.”
