Having already made their mark supporting the likes of Squid and Water From Your Eyes on stage these last few months, Brighton-based newcomers plantoid are now looking to celebrate their signing to Bella Union with their brilliantly adventurous debut single 'Dog's Life'.
Much like those they have already attracted praise from on the live circuit recently, this new release is hard to fully describe without hearing it for yourself. Blending a jazz-inspired direction with a rigorous indie-rock and post-punk aesthetic throughout, 'Dog's Life' sees the four-piece establish their place on the new music scene as one of the more surprising names emerging right now.
Although it is only their first single, plantoid already feel like a name many are going to be talking about throughout the months ahead. With such a fresh and expressive take on their sound from start to finish, 'Dog's Life' is one of the more original debut offerings we have heard from anyone in quite a long time.
