After making plenty of noise earlier this year, Charlotte Grayson wastes no time keeping the momentum rolling with her latest offering 'Low Standards'. It’s a sharp, swaggering slice of indie-pop brilliance that follows in the footsteps of 'Get Outta My Yard' with even more confidence.

With her long-time collaborators The Shame Areas making one last appearance, there’s a sense of celebratory finality baked into the track. The chemistry is undeniable as bright guitars chime with purpose, the rhythm section drives with urgency, and Grayson’s vocals remain the gravitational centre. She’s equal parts bite and bounce, delivering lines with a clarity that cuts through the mix and sticks in your head long after the final chorus.

What makes 'Low Standards' particularly special is its tone. It’s high-energy without being overblown, and smart without sounding self-serious. There’s a playful smirk behind the lyricism, one that plays beautifully against the soaring backdrop of jangly chords and punchy percussion. It feels like it belongs on a packed festival stage just as much as on a late-night drive home.

If this is Grayson’s way of closing a chapter with The Shame Areas, it’s done with flair and fire. 'Low Standards' is a victory lap that hints at even bigger things to come.
