Norwich alt-rockers team up with Grammy-winning producer Adrian Bushby for their most ambitious release yet

After years of shaking up the East Anglia live scene with their blistering performances and emotionally charged alt-rock, Norwich band Chicanes have officially stepped into the national spotlight with the release of their long-anticipated debut album Something Beautiful, out June 13th.

Produced by two-time Grammy Award winner Adrian Bushby—known for his work with Foo Fighters, Muse, U2, and Placebo—the record is an evolution in both sound and spirit for the four-piece. Heavier, darker, and more refined, Something Beautiful sees the band dive headfirst into more mature and emotionally layered territory. The result is an album that feels both sonically expansive and intimately raw.

“We are going for heavier, more refined, deeper story telling in our writing,” the band said. “We have finished recording our debut album Something Beautiful with Adrian Bushby, and we are excited to start a new era.”

Having already built a reputation in London and Cambridge, the band are firmly established in their hometown scene. “Being a very well known name in the Norwich music scene, we are playing our debut album launch gig at Voodoo Daddy's on the 20th June with Fleas and AJQJ,” they added.

Known for their live presence, Chicanes are not shy about what they bring to the stage: “We are known for our high energy live gigs, catchy choruses, hooks and riffs, and loud sets.”

Throughout Something Beautiful, Chicanes deliver punchy, distorted guitar riffs, propulsive drums, and emotionally direct vocals. Their sound swings between Royal Blood-style alt-rock, expansive atmospheric passages, and sprawling, heavy rock moments—often skirting the lines of alt-metal and grunge, while retaining a melodic core.
