Comedy Rap Artist MC Hammersmith Reveals Visuals From Debut Single 'G.I. Joe'

Edinburgh-based comedic sensation, MC Hammersmith, drops visuals to his debut single 'G.I. Joe,'. This exciting release is a prelude to his month-long residency at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe in August, where he'll present his brand-new live show, 'Straight Outta Brompton.' 'G.I. Joe' is the inaugural taste of his upcoming debut album, 'Mother’s Fettuccine,' slated for release on October 6th.

Unlike many freestyle rappers, MC Hammersmith isn't your typical hip-hop artist with a gritty backstory. Born Will Naameh, he hails from an eclectic heritage—his English mother and Syrian father instilled a unique cultural blend in him. He grew up attending a middle-class private school in the heart of Hammersmith, London. However, it was his escape from this privileged environment that led him to explore his talent for improv comedy and freestyle rap.

MC Hammersmith's comedic genius thrives on his awkward persona, combined with his middle-class English accent and fair complexion, which offer a distinctive backdrop to his hip-hop performances. His journey took an intriguing turn when he pursued a Master's degree in Linguistics, specializing in phonology, at the University of Edinburgh. Concurrently, he began experimenting with freestyle rap comedy, blending his love for hip hop with his academic expertise in the mechanics of rhyming.

Having just come off a month-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe with his new live show ‘Straight Outta Brompton’. MC Hammersmith looks to the future with his debut single, 'G.I. Joe,' unveils an innovative approach to freestyle rap, showcasing his distinctive flow and razor-sharp punchlines. His debut album, 'Mother’s Fettuccine,' promises a tantalizing musical journey. As the comedic rapper continues to break barriers and redefine the art of freestyle rap.
