The New Year is now upon us and so is a new form of lo-fi to wrap your ears around. Seeyousoon members Drex Carter and Kkami have teamed up again to create another body of work in 'THAW 2'. They blend together a unique blend of melancholic, lo-fi sad rap that has been quickly taking flight in 2021 and the trend doesn't look to be halting any time soon. And you can see why, as it's catchy, easy listening music that grabs your attention without you even realising.
'walking on stars' and 'wide awake' are particular highlights on the 4-track EP, showcasing their hugely potent combination as a pairing full of surprises and melodic masterpieces that catch the ear instantaneously. The music feels fast paced yet slow in tempo and is hook-ridden throughout, and we look forward to seeing what else this talented duo come up with in 2022.
