Echo The Light make faith feel immediate on debut single 'Send Me'

The debut single from Echo The Light centres on the simple but powerful idea, that purpose means very little if it never moves beyond thought. Written by Jessie Schat during a time of worship, 'Send Me' becomes a direct request to be useful, to take whatever gifts have been given and put them into motion.
But rather than beginning at full intensity, 'Send Me' gradually opens up. Jessie's vocal carries the central message with clarity, while Chris Schat's guitar work gives the song a spacious, atmospheric quality rooted in modern worship. There's also a noticeable Americana warmth underneath, keeping the track grounded as the arrangement expands.
From the second chorus onwards, a thicker 90s-style overdrive pushes the song into a more powerful register. It's an effective choice because the added weight mirrors the message itself: what begins as an inward prayer gradually becomes something more outward-facing and determined.
Derek Mehl's drumming gives that progression real momentum, helping the track avoid becoming too static or reverent.
Jessie, Chris and Derek have been making music together for around eighteen years, beginning with informal jam sessions before moving through earlier bands and projects. That long history is audible in the way the track feels settled in its surroundings. This may be a debut under a new name, but it's certainly not the sound of musicians just learning how to work together.
Recorded at Bell Labs in Norman, Oklahoma, the track developed in the studio, with its ending was reworked from a fade into something more intentional after additional recorded parts suggested a stronger conclusion.
'Send Me' is ultimately about answering a call, and for Echo The Light, it feels personal, purposeful and built to move forward.
