EP REVIEW: Aleutians captivate on the sprawling new EP 'This is all we need'

Over these last few years, the emerging DIY project Aleutians have been steadily building a strong and confident rapport with their fast-growing fanbase. Taking cues from the likes of Turnover, Death Cab For Cutie, American Football, and Alvvays to create their riveting aesthetic, these last few years have been a great time for innovation and self-discovery within their sound to date. And with their buzz still continuing to build, they return once again with their sprawling new EP 'This is all we need'.

Despite only five tracks in length, 'This is all we need' certainly packs itself with plenty of fresh and exciting ideas as often as possible. Coupling warm and alluring songwriting with some brilliantly euphoric production from beginning to end has given this new outing a brilliantly immersive sound that only seems to get bigger and more anthemic as it plays.

Whether it is the pensive atmosphere around 'Welcome Home' or the uplifting nature of opener 'A heathen!', this new EP looks to explore a wide variety of dynamic aesthetics throughout. Brimming with warmth and an emotive prowess, 'This is all we need' stands as a truly spellbinding addition to their already progressive repertoire to date.
