Indie trio Feral Family return with their sophomore EP, So Far Behind, released February 6th, delivering a six-track collection that captures the band at their most cinematic and emotionally charged yet. The EP seamlessly balances raw, riff-driven intensity with moments of vulnerability, crafting a soundscape that is both vast and apocalyptic. Drawing inspiration from Frank Herbert’s epic worlds and Sergio Leone’s sweeping cinematic style, Feral Family create music that resonates deeply with fans of Fontaines D.C., Foals, and IDLE, establishing a compelling, otherworldly dimension to their indie rock.

Already hailed as “one of the most compelling new acts in UK alternative music” by Apricot Magazine, Feral Family are rapidly building momentum. Their rising profile is bolstered by recognition on both sides of the Atlantic: they were named a Top Five finalist in a nationwide competition to support Only The Poets at Brixton Academy, earned runner-up for Best Indie Band in Radio Wigwam’s annual awards, and secured a spot on the iconic KEXP playlist in the US. These achievements underline a band on the brink of breaking through, combining critical acclaim with a growing, devoted fanbase.

Produced by Liam Radburn, So Far Behind is propelled by dynamic drumbeats and thunderous guitar riffs, with standout moments like the commanding opener The Balance and the climactic closer Down In The Dirt. Tracks such as Endless Night showcase soaring vocals paired with powerful guitar lines, while Taste Of Life highlights lead singer Jamie Lowe’s high-ranging, emotionally resonant voice. Speaking on the release, Lowe describes the EP as “a condensed album — six huge songs that peel back deeper layers of our sound,” while guitarist Oscar Woods emphasizes themes of “love, loss, and yearning.” Following a brief hiatus after their 2023 debut, Feral Family kick off a UK tour with a London EP release show, before heading north for dates in Leeds and Manchester, signaling a bold new chapter for a band clearly hungry for more.
