In a world obsessed with loudness and immediacy, FRUM’s 'Whirlpool' is a rare act of resistance, a hushed but potent invitation to sink into something deeper. The Faroese artist has always operated just outside the current, but with this new full-length, she swims against the tide, reshaping the waves entirely.

'Whirlpool' unfold like rituals, each one tracing the contours of identity, growth, and feminine intuition. Rather than leaning on bombast or big hooks, FRUM builds her world with texture and trust, with ambient pulses, floating synths, and melodies that seem to hover just above the surface of consciousness.

The mood is set early and held like a breath. On 'Sun Aura', a track co-shaped with Norwegian producer Moyka, FRUM conjures something celestial. It’s a track that rewards stillness, letting its radiance build gradually, until it’s shimmering quietly at the edge of your perception.

Other highlights like 'Orbit With You' and 'Rise' continue this elegant balancing act of buoyancy without being showy. The synthwork is sleek but never sterile, grounded in a warmth that feels distinctly human.

Part of what makes Whirlpool resonate so deeply is its creative foundation. Built over time and across terrains, the album is a statement in production itself. By prioritising female collaborators behind the scenes, FRUM subtly challenges the norms of authorship and authority in electronic pop, weaving process into product.

'Whirlpool' invites us to sit with ourselves and feel the shifts beneath the surface. In doing so, FRUM has created something quietly radical. A steady tide pulling you inward.
