Liverpool indie-alt outfit Honey Motel have announced their debut EP Motel FM, alongside the release of their latest single, 'Milk'. The track arrives as the four-piece gear up for a string of summer festival appearances, including Lakefest, 110 Above, and a coveted main stage slot at Y Not Festival 2025.

'Milk' sees the band continue to refine their sound, blending alt-rock textures with accessible indie-pop hooks. Opening with a stripped-back vocal, the track builds into a dynamic mix of jazzy guitar lines, rolling bass, and layered percussion. The euphoric chorus nods to acts like Nothing But Thieves, while maintaining the band’s own distinctive edge.

Produced by Alec Brits (Clean Cut Kid, Michael Aldag, St Catherine’s Child), 'Milk' marks a confident step forward in Honey Motel’s sonic evolution. The song’s lyrical content delves into emotional vulnerability, particularly the internal struggle of bottling up feelings. Guitarist Sam Meredith explains that the track explores the quiet unraveling that can occur when emotions remain unspoken, especially from a male perspective.

One of the track’s key lines, “where are the drums,” serves as a recurring motif—symbolizing the absence of emotional clarity or the longing for a release that never arrives. According to the band, the lyric reflects frontman Freddie Griggs’ personal experiences with emotional detachment and disconnection.

Following support slots for artists like The Lottery Winners and appearances at Stockton Calling and The Great Escape, Honey Motel are continuing to build momentum. With headline shows on the horizon and a festival season that includes sharing the Y Not Festival main stage with The Prodigy, The Wombats, and The Last Dinner Party, the release of Motel FM positions the band as a notable new presence in the UK’s alternative scene.
