J Carlyle releases new reggae bop 'Intruder Alert'

A major force on the UK scene, multi-faceted mastermind J Carlyle returns with his bouncy new bop ‘Intruder Alert’, a bold offering that looks set to catapult him into the spotlight this Springtime.

Adopting reggae rhythms, punchy keyboard melodies and catchy old school hooks, the track weaves between genres with ease, borrowing from grime, R&B and Dancehall to achieve the unforgettable sound. Commanding attention with his orchestrated flow, the rapper and poet uses his lyrical expertise to his advantage, dabbling with his own personal experiences to create music that is authentic and raw. Having begun writing music from the tender age of 15, J released his debut EP ‘Calculating the Ifs’ last year to rave reviews, with the inspiration largely stemming from his life outside of music, which he spends working in a hospital dealing with mental health issues.

The artist, who is based between Northampton and London, has received recognition from the likes of BBC Radio and GRM Daily for his unique sound, and he plans to release a book of his poetry alongside new music this year.

Kicking off his year in style, 2021 is J Carlyle’s to own.
