Karlo Bromsen uncorks a joyfully surreal pop adventure on new single ‘Parlin Papito’

From the moment its tiny hero emerges from a corked bottle, ‘Parlin Papito’ establishes a world where ordinary rules have been cheerfully abandoned. Bees become companions, domestic disorder turns into adventure and strange villains wait around every corner. For Karlo Bromsen’s first solo release, that sense of playful possibility becomes the foundation of a warm, eccentric indie-pop single with a genuinely touching story behind it.

The Berlin-based artist found his central character in drawings made by his son Willi. From there, he began imagining a wider universe around it, developing Papito into a small but adventurous figure capable of carrying songs, animation and an expanding series of stories.

Musically, the track blends melodic indie-pop with buoyant electronic flourishes. Its light rhythm and colourful production suit the animated setting, creating a sense of forward movement without overwhelming the central hook. Here, he brings the experimental instincts associated with his work in indietronic act Bromsen, but channels them into something more direct, mischievous and openly affectionate.

But the song’s greatest asset is its refusal to mistake eccentricity for substance. However unusual Papito’s surroundings become, the melody remains strong enough to carry the concept. The hook is immediate and carefully shaped, giving the single a musical identity that extends far beyond its visual novelty.

This balance also makes ‘Parlin Papito’ effective as a summer release. It's bright without becoming disposable, strange without losing accessibility and cheerful without feeling forced.
