Spokane’s Kate Castro has been in love with music for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she listened to, and was musically educated by, the likes of Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, The Doors, Anita Baker, Sade and Natalie Cole. At the age of 15, her passion saw her go on and start performing live, where she started playing at ceremonial functions and city sporting events.
Her latest single “Telepathy” is a warm new release. The track is a textually diverse offering that features playful drums, slick guitars lines and angelic backing vocals. Her lead vocals land on top, coming drenched in personality and working hand in glove with well-penned lyrics.
Speaking about the track, she says she wants her audience to: “... interpret the song however they’d like while enjoying the sound. Feelings of passion and uncertainty are universal. I’ve always loved the word and meaning of Telepathy. From there, I went with experienced feelings. Spirituality is a large part of my life and I believe we communicate in more ways than the usual communication=speaking.”
Castro has already received an abundance of accolades. With tracks such as this, and a growing fanbase, we can see her going straight to the top.
