KLEO releases powerful new single and music video “TWDN”
KLEO is an internet star who has gathered a loyal and global fanbase in the past couple of years. Her music merges hyperpop, darkpop, K-pop, house and trap together, creating a colourful and refreshing sound. With huge tastemaker support, 2023 is shaping up to be her year.
Her latest offering comes in the form of single “TWDN.” The track features groovy precision and a vibrant instrumental. On top, her vocals are signature sounding and work hand in glove with well-penned lyrics. Accompanying is a powerful music video.
Speaking about the track, she says: “Things We Don't Need - which I've shortened to TWDN - is a song I wrote about the boundary between the consumer and the product and how the two are becoming increasingly indistinguishable due to our capitalistic society. The song is about how incredibly full our lives are of 'stuff' but how incredibly lonely and unhappy we are. We are constantly bombarded with adverts pushing the latest 'thing' that promises to make us complete (usually driven by data that social media apps collect on us in the background) but the happiness that is promised is seldom delivered, and if it is, it is fleeting. For a long time, this has led me to wonder: are we the consumer, or have we become the product? They are consumed.”
We cannot wait to see where she’ll take this. 2023 is certainly looking bright for her.
