English songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dan Whiffin, known as Late Hala, unveils his latest single 'Wherever You Are', a tender meditation on distance, connection, and mental health. Written during the pandemic in a garden in Hertfordshire, the track captures the quiet disorientation of that time, opening with the poignant line: “come up and see me when the days feel strange.”
Blending fingerpicked acoustic guitar with soft vintage synths, layered harmonies, and an understated rhythm section, the song evokes a dreamy warmth rooted in classic singer-songwriter tradition. It was recorded in Manchester with producer Jim Spencer (Johnny Marr, New Order) and features contributions from John Victor (Gengahr) and Lara Smiles (Australian Pink Floyd).
'Wherever You Are' is a gentle but resonant offering, reaffirming Whiffin’s gift for subtle, emotionally charged songwriting.
