Leicester-based indie quartet The Harbours make a confident debut with Are We There Yet?, a five-track EP that channels the energy of mid-2000s guitar pop into a fresh, emotionally resonant statement. Formed in 2024 and fronted by Ollie Drakard and Will Massarella-Tyler, the band have already carved out a presence across the UK live circuit, supported by BBC Introducing and a growing grassroots fanbase.

Drawing clear influence from acts like Two Door Cinema Club, The Kooks and The Wombats, The Harbours deliver hook-laden, guitar-driven tracks that balance youthful exuberance with polished songwriting. Lead single “What Are We Running For?” is a standout — a bright, propulsive anthem underpinned by layered guitars and a sense of emotional urgency. Elsewhere, the soaring “Scarlet (Boys That Sing)” blends shimmering textures and anthemic choruses reminiscent of Klaxons and Little Comets.

Throughout the EP, the band’s strength lies in their ability to pair infectious melodies with open-ended storytelling, inviting listeners to find their own meaning in the music. Are We There Yet? is a strong opening statement from a band with clear direction, combining familiar indie tropes with a sense of identity that already feels assured. With momentum building and a sound built for both festival fields and radio waves, The Harbours are poised for a promising year ahead.
