London’s most spellbinding torch singer Madeleine Rose Witney returns with 'Shine', a luminous nocturne laced with quiet defiance. Draped in vintage textures and hushed elegance, the track merges late-night beauty with razor-edge lyrical intent, a contradiction that’s become Witney’s trademark.

On the surface, 'Shine' floats like a lullaby, but under the velvet lies a stark and urgent truth. Inspired by the unnerving act of walking home alone at night, Witney crafts a sonic prayer for protection; a “celestial chorus” watching over women, even as reality demands keys clenched in fists. “It’s set to a jolly tune,” she explains, “but the truth is, it’s not safe to walk with headphones in. If you know, you know.”

Following a run of sold-out London shows and growing buzz around her debut EP, Witney continues to shape her world of myth, melancholy, and West End noir. With echoes of Jessica Pratt, Aldous Harding, and Weyes Blood, 'Shine' cements her as one of the UK’s most evocative new voices.
