Massive Cranes have released their latest single 'Girl and Clown', continuing the project’s evolving approach to stripped-back, introspective hip hop. The track arrives as a preview of the forthcoming album 'Music to Sit Down To', expected later in 2026.

Written by Dan Thurlow and mixed and mastered by DJ Haem, 'Girl and Clown' focuses on understated production and direct lyricism. The song moves away from high-energy structures, instead favouring a slower, more deliberate pace.

Lyrically, the track draws on detailed imagery, with references to London locations such as Drury Lane and riverside settings. The narrative centres on connection and repetition, exploring the dynamics of relationships through everyday moments rather than larger statements.

The release continues a creative shift for Massive Cranes following earlier projects, including 'Monuments' and 'Carnival', which introduced a more minimal and reflective sound.

'Girl and Clown' offers another step in that direction, presenting a controlled and focused approach as the project moves toward its next full-length release.
