MATONDO is returning for the first time since the 2023 EP, COMPLEX I. She arrives fired up, boasting even more electronic experimentation in her music and a more hyperactive sound woven into her reflective, sultry vocals. ‘DOPAMINE’ is the first look into her next EP.

The Zurich artist joins a growing mix of artists taking a range of noughties musical elements and repackaging them into something retro, but also intentionally futuristic and new.
Tight but glitchy synthesisers, drums and heavily processed vocals push and pull with a more atmospheric, nighttime, dancefloor sound. The uniqueness is addictive, and the lyricism details the all-too-relatable feeling of being trapped in the doomscroll.
MATONDO comments, "Staying focused on the things that matter in today's world seems to be getting harder and harder. ‘DOPAMINE’ is about the feeling of the dopamine rush triggered by reels and delves into the depths and turmoil of social media."
Drawing from classical training, jazz improvisation, and alternative R&B, MATONDO approaches songwriting with complete freedom. The openness to experimentation has become one of her biggest strengths, with electronic pop and indie woven into her music when the moment calls for it. More hypnotic than ever, and perfectly placed for our times, the new EP will be an exciting listen.
