Matreya and Lee Harris come from very different public worlds, but on 'Truth' those differences become exactly the point. Matreya, previously known as Mason Noise, brings the searching, emotionally exposed side of his cinematic soul-pop, while Harris appears as the answering voice, offering perspective where the song begins in uncertainty.

Matreya's line, "I've got nothing to believe in", carries the weight of spiritual exhaustion, but the record refuses to stay there. Lee Harris responds with the possibility of something still being built in the present, turning the song into an exchange between despair and hope throughout.

Composer and producer Davor Bozic helps widen the arrangement into something suitably expansive. Native flutes, orchestral textures, deep bass and electric guitars move around a rolling 3/4 pulse influenced by qawwali, giving the track a sense of ceremony without losing its contemporary edge.

The result is cinematic, but never merely decorative. Every element seems designed to support the song’s central idea of searching for meaning while still standing inside uncertainty. Matreya's vocal carries the doubt, while Harris' spoken contribution becomes its counterweight.

There's also something fitting about the fact that both artists were born in Birmingham. Their paths could hardly have been more different, yet 'Truth' finds a meeting point between music, spirituality and personal transformation. It's a small connection that gives the collaboration a sense of genuine synchronicity too.

For Matreya, 'Truth' feels like another significant step in an artistic rebirth that has already moved through soul, R&B, Afrobeats and global influences. And while 'Truth' doesn't pretend to offer easy answers, it does allow the question and the hope to exist together, and somehow makes that uncertainty feel like forward movement.
